Policies

Last updated: 20 May 2026

This page sets out the operational policies that govern how ET Actuarial Limited (Company No. 14329121) runs its website and its client engagements. It complements our Privacy Notice and Terms of Use.

1. Cookie policy

1.1 What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site operator.

1.2 Cookies we use

This Site uses a minimal set of cookies. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or behavioural targeting.

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Site to function (e.g. session integrity, security). These cannot be switched off in our systems.
  • Performance cookies — anonymised analytics to help us understand how visitors use the Site (page views, navigation paths). Aggregated; no individual user is identified.
  • Embedded third-party content — the contact page embeds a Google Maps frame to display our office location. Google may set its own cookies when that frame loads; Google's privacy policy applies to those cookies.

1.3 Managing cookies

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. Doing so may affect Site functionality. Detailed instructions for each major browser are available at aboutcookies.org.

2. Acceptable use

By using the Site you agree not to attempt to compromise the security of the Site or any connected systems, not to harvest data without our consent, and not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose. The full acceptable-use rules are set out in section 4 of our Terms of Use.

3. Conflicts of interest policy

ET Actuarial Limited operates an active conflicts-management policy consistent with the Actuaries' Code of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries:

  • Before accepting any engagement we conduct a conflicts check against existing and recent client work.
  • Where a potential conflict is identified, we will disclose it in writing to all affected parties. We will only proceed where each party has provided informed written consent and where appropriate information barriers can be maintained.
  • Where a conflict cannot be managed to our satisfaction, we will decline the engagement.
  • We do not accept commissions, referral fees or product-placement income from third parties.

4. Complaints policy

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service or this Site, please contact us in the first instance:

  • Email: enquiries@etactuarial.co.uk
  • Post: Complaints, ET Actuarial Limited, Low Barn, Llancayo Business Park, Usk, Monmouthshire, NP15 1HY, United Kingdom

We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days and provide a substantive response within twenty working days. If your complaint relates to professional conduct of an actuary, you have the right to escalate it to the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries at actuaries.org.uk.

Complaints about how we handle personal data may be raised with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

5. Anti-bribery & modern slavery

ET Actuarial Limited has a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption. All staff and contractors are required to act with integrity in all business dealings and to comply with the Bribery Act 2010.

We comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We engage selectively with suppliers and expect them to operate to equivalent ethical standards.

6. Information security

We hold an internal information-security policy covering encryption-at-rest, access controls, multi-factor authentication, supplier security review and incident response. Where engagements involve sensitive policyholder, scheme-member or financial data, additional controls (including segregated environments and encrypted transfer) are agreed in the engagement letter.

7. Equality & inclusion

ET Actuarial Limited is committed to equality of opportunity. We do not discriminate on the basis of any characteristic protected under the Equality Act 2010 in our hiring, supplier selection or client engagement decisions.

8. Updates to these policies

These policies may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent revision took effect. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
